Zille Muhammad Jafary. but if that’s a mouthful, just go with Jerry.

Most of what I build sits behind a login. CRMs, HR systems, trader dashboards, the tools people have open all day. I’ve been at it for 7 years, mostly Laravel and Vue. Days are at SwishTag, a Shopify Plus agency, on white-label apps and an AI chatbot. The rest of my hours go into TourHub, which is mine and the one thing here that’s fully public. Think Skyscanner, but for tours.

7 Years in, since 2019
25+ Projects delivered, some from scratch
10+ Clients, going back to 2019
4,000 Tours on TourHub, from 200 operators
What I do

Three things, mostly.

Most of my work is internal software, the kind staff live in all day. Nobody cares about a nice animation when they’re trying to close a rota before they go home. The rest is public-facing: storefronts, marketplaces, and the SEO that gets people to them.

01

Backend systems

Laravel and PHP. This is where most of my time goes.

  • Portals with roles and permissions, for CRM, HR, customers and traders
  • APIs, queued jobs, and live updates that go out by email and WhatsApp
  • Stripe payments, OAuth, and whatever third party the client is already tied to
  • Security and performance fixes on systems that are already live
02

Front-end work

Vue 3 with Inertia, and React when a project calls for it.

  • Inertia apps, so there’s no second API to keep in sync
  • Tables, filters and rotas that people actually work in all day
  • Components the next developer can pick up without ringing me
  • Interfaces that still work properly on a phone
03

Shopify and AI

Shopify apps, WordPress sites, and OpenAI on top of them.

  • White-label Shopify apps for different clients
  • Chatbots that handle the order and product questions nobody wants to answer
  • Multilingual storefronts and more than one way to pay
  • SEO and conversion work
Selected work

Some of what I’ve built.

Seven I can show. Most of the rest sit behind an NDA, or a login I no longer have. All of them shipped, and were in production the last time I had eyes on them.

Marketplace Mine · 2026–Present

TourHub

Pakistan’s tours in one place, so you can actually compare them. Dates and real prices in Rupees, side by side. Roughly 4,000 tours from 200 operators so far.

E-commerce SwishTag · 2023–Present

SwishTag

A promotional products platform built on Shopify. Decorators and suppliers run production, orders, punchout catalogues and print on demand through it. I built the AI chatbot that answers order and product questions, and the white-label Shopify apps for their clients.

iCashCars

You put in your registration and a few details about the car, and it comes back with a valuation. Then you send photos and paperwork through the portal, or over WhatsApp or email if you’d rather, and it gets you in front of buyers.

Where traders manage their vehicles, bids and purchases, and dig back through what they’ve bought before. New stock and updates on anything they’re watching go out by email and WhatsApp, so they don’t have to sit refreshing the page.

HR & Drivers Portal

This one I built from nothing. Attendance, breaks, holidays, shift rotas, a company wiki, notifications that go to everyone. Profiles and feedback too, and the driver side of it as well. It’s not the kind of thing anyone puts in a portfolio, but HR used it every single day.

It watches every auxiliary and third-party service the business depends on, and logs the lot. Support should find out something’s down from the dashboard, not from a customer ringing in to tell them.

A parental control app. Location, internet use, phone logs, app blocking, geo-fencing, all of it feeding live back to the parent app. I ran the full revamp, which meant the interface and the security both got pulled apart and rebuilt.

Recommendations

People I’ve worked with, in their words.

“I had the privilege of learning Laravel, React, and Shopify app development under the mentorship of ZMJ, and I can confidently say that he is one of the most brilliant and generous individuals I’ve had the pleasure to work with. His depth of knowledge in these technologies is impressive, but what truly sets him apart is his ability to teach and inspire. ZMJ has a rare talent for breaking down complex concepts into digestible pieces, making the learning process not only easier but enjoyable. His patience, guidance, and hands-on approach significantly shortened my learning curve, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without his support. If you’re looking for someone who is not only an expert in problem solving, coding skill but also a kind and encouraging mentor, ZMJ is your person. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking to grow both professionally and personally.”

Haseeb Ahmed Khan Senior Software Engineer · Reported to Zille, Oct 2024

“I’m incredibly impressed by Zille Muhammad’s professionalism, dependability and expertise. His unapologetic confidence and competence in his field make him stand out. He approached the project with a level of expertise that inspired trust and confidence in his abilities from the moment we started working together. Zille consistently showed that he was dedicated to producing excellent results. He paid close attention to my requests, was proactive in seeking clarifications and always made sure he understood the requirements clearly. I would, without a doubt, recommend Zille to anyone looking for a skilled and reliable expert for any projects involving Laravel PHP, JavaScript or web development in general.”

Bilal Ahmad Marketing · Zille’s client, Jul 2023

“I have worked with him for over 1 year and I can confidently say that he is one of the intellects that Pakistan has created and should cash in every way and form! Zille Muhammad has a hands-on grip on technical knowledge and he has assisted me whenever and however I needed help. I still reach out to Zille Muhammad whenever I am STUCK with technical stuff. This is an appreciation post for you Sir! If you all, need a man who has 360-degree knowledge of development, Zille Muhammad is your guy!”

How I work

Four things I stick to.

These didn’t come from a book. They came from leading teams and then having to live with what I shipped afterwards.

01

I build for whoever has it open all day

An inspector standing in a yard, an admin closing a rota, an operator trying to list a tour. They’re the ones I picture, and the ones I go back and ask.

02

I don’t skip the boring parts

Roles and permissions, audit trails, queues, invoices, payment states. None of it’s fun and none of it demos well. But it’s what decides whether anyone still trusts the thing in year three.

03

I fix how things get shipped

Setting up CI/CD with Jenkins, Docker and Kubernetes at SwishTag took downtime down by 30%. I’d rather spend a week on the pipeline than keep losing hours to deploys that go sideways.

04

I make sure I’m not the only one who knows

I’ve mentored juniors at YumyApps, iCashCars and SwishTag. Onboarding got quicker and code quality went up 15%. Being the only person who understands a system just leaves a problem for whoever comes after you.

About

How I got here.

First proper job was YumyApps, in October 2019, as a PHP developer. Most of those two years went into revamping a parental control app and building product management tools.

Then iCashCars for nearly two years, full stack, across their CRM, CMS, HRM and customer portals.

Since September 2023 I’ve been at SwishTag, a Shopify Plus agency, doing white-label Shopify apps and an OpenAI chatbot.

Everything left over goes into TourHub. Tour prices here were scattered across a couple of hundred operator sites with no way to compare like for like, so I put them all in one place. Roughly 4,000 tours, updated daily. Still just me on it.

Tell me what it is and roughly when you need it. If I’m not the right person for it I’ll say so, and usually know someone who is.
